"Hane was brought up in a non-christian family. Her parents (Mr & Mrs Koi) ran a small business dealing with antiques trading and things were going pretty well until the year when Hane was borned. In 1986, the Hotel New World collapsed. The nation faced with immediate economy down-turned - many people lost their jobs; business industries were tremendously affected. Hane's family business suffered and in less than six months, Mr & Mrs Koi lost their entire business and owed the bank a lofty sum. It was the beginning of a dolorous history for Hane.
During those times, the significance of baby Hane in the family was almost insignificant. Mr & Mrs Koi were busy trailing ways to salvage their business and left baby Hane with a neighbour to babysit. Mrs Tay (neighbour) was happily married with three children who were already in their mid-20s. If there were anyone who had made a difference in Hane's life, the first trophy would be rewarded to Mrs Tay. At least to Hane, she was one of the most virtuous woman that one could ever find on earth. Like Tabitha during the days of the bible, she was unlimited with her acts of kindness and charity towards the people around her. Her exemplary life became a nurturing aspect for little Hane.
As years went by, Hane grew closer with the Tay's but unforgiveness and hatred had begun to sprout within her against her own family. Her heart grew cold. Though she could never agree with Mr & Mrs Koi's underhand methods in dealing with the things of life, lies had became a way of life for Hane to cover the shame and the despicable thread of her parents' deeds. The undesirable ways of her parents tinted and clang onto Hane for the longest of time. "Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit" (Matt 7:17).
The confusion of living in two different worlds brought Hane to battle herself..."
